A Note from Nickel Cat Bread Co.
10/13/2024
We have an update for everyone from the Nickel Cat Bread family……
Our head (and only) baker, has accepted a new, full-time position. Unfortunately, this means that we are going to need to suspend our bread making operations until we can determine if there will still be time to make glutinous goodies for all of you! As of right now, we are unsure if we will be able to fit in a final “regular” bake day prior to the start of the new job, but we are trying. As soon as we are able to nail down a date, we will, of course let all of you know!
This little bread journey has been an amazing one to take with all of you! Some of you we have known for years, some have been brought to us because of the bread, and some of you we haven’t even met, but have put goodies out front with your name on them many times! We cannot thank all of you enough for supporting our little (really little) bakery, and for all of the encouragement you have given us along the way. THANK YOU!!
Since we kicked this thing off in June, 2023, we have gone through just shy of 1,500lbs of flour, baked up 1,000 loaves of bread, and griddled just over 1,600 English Muffins! All mixed and formed by hand, and fermented by our hard working starter, Ginny!
We very much hope that this is not the end of the road for us (that includes ALL OF YOU) as a neighborhood pico bakery, but time will tell us very soon what a new version of Nickel Cat Bread Co may look like.
Stay tuned!
Rich, Chief Baking Officer, Nickel Cat Bread Co.
